Alexander Lim, Executive Director and Editor-in-Chief Alex is a fourth-year New College student double-majoring in Ethics, Society & Law, and Biological Anthropology, with a minor in Environmental Anthropology. Having a diverse array of interests including international politics, global and public health, and social justice, Alex strives to share his passions with others through the Globalist. Last year, Alex organized a successful joint bilingual issue on Poverty with the Paris Globalist. While on a whirlwind tour through England, Scotland, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Vatican this past summer, Alex spent several days in Paris meeting with the Paris Globalist team – a testament to the truly global nature of Global21. With a love for traveling and teaching, Alex has also spent his summers working with students from around the world at Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth sites in Los Angeles, California, and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Attending the International AIDS Conference as a journalist in 2006, Alex was inspired by the impact and influence which youth can exert when working in collaboration with one another. Subsequently, he is planning on attending the 2008 International AIDS Conference in Mexico City this summer. As editor-in-chief, Alex strongly believes in the importance of mutual tolerance, understanding, and respect, and hopes this publication can instill a sense of responsibility among its readers by encouraging them to re-think the obvious, challenge existing paradigms, and think outside of the box. Alex is currently serving as Vice President for the Ethics Society & Law Student Association and hopes to pursue a career in health administration/public health. Jonathan C. G.
