Social Impact

Global21 produces insightful, provocative publications that give students a platform to debate the international problems that will affect our generation most directly. By 2010, we aim to establish fourteen chapters on six continents, reaching over 245,000 students with content in seven languages. Our interactive peer-to-peer internet platform will be accessible worldwide. Most importantly, through the writing, editing, and production of our magazines, Global21 strives to create an international network among those high-achieving students who are most likely to assume leadership roles in business, media, the non-profit sector, academia, and government. By targeting this select demographic, we hope to provoke an international dialogue—and provide a venue for personal relationships—that we believe will ultimately lead to greater international cooperation and understanding

Level One: Discussion of Foreign Affairs Within Campuses

By operating within campuses, Global21 provides an opportunity for local students to discuss foreign policies and foreign affairs with fellow students and professors. Since each chapter’s primary audience will be its respective campus, our publications will also educate local student bodies about pressing international affairs issues.

Level Two: Dialogue Across Continents

International linkages are created through Global21’s international website, quarterly article exchanges, and communication between editorial boards. Ideas developed within national settings can be tried, tested, and enriched through the input of colleagues in other countries. These exchanges will allow future leaders to engage intellectually with their peers around the world.

Level Three: Communication Between Students and Current Leaders

By sending publications to embassies, academics, think tanks, and prominent members of academia, Global21 creates the third level of social interaction, between government and the academic world. Writing for Globalist-affiliated publications will serve as training for future diplomats, academics, and other international leaders. In turn, the leadership in countries that have Globalist-affiliated student publications will benefit from reading the work of these student journalists. Students have often served as agents of global change throughout history; Global21 connects current leaders with students, allowing them to keep their fingers on the pulse of the upcoming generation.
