July 30th, 2006 Dear Editors, I would like to take this opportunity to express my concerns regarding the events unfolding in the Middle East. I can only imagine the personal toll the conflict is taking on your lives and I hope this letter finds both of you well. Though we find ourselves physically removed from the conflict, our hearts and minds are deeply engaged. I strongly believe that The Globalist Foundation has an important role to play in providing objective coverage and challenging our readership to contemplate the underlying issues that manifest themselves in violence. Here at The Toronto Globalist we hope to feature exchange articles from your chapters that provide analysis from your unique perspective. Most importantly, we as a foundation can strive to address the many underlying whys behind the conflict - why have events escalated as they have, why have international efforts to end the conflict failed, and why brute force continue to triumph over diplomacy. Sincerely, Gunwant Gill
