Establishing Chapters
Global21 uses a three-tiered strategy to found new chapters:
- Work from the top-down—We contact professors and administrators at the
universities, presenting them with our plan and enlisting their support in founding sister publications. The support of the administration allows us to locate interested students, facilitate the publication process, and aid our search for additional funding sources.
- Work from the bottom-up—We use our connections among current students at international universities to recruit founding members and to generate interest in the new organizations. Starting at the ‘bottom’ level, the level of the individual student, we locate the most creative minds and the best writers to expand our network.
- We will establish partnerships—In universities where fitting undergraduate international affairs publications already exist, we contact the executive board of the organization so as to ascertain whether they are interested in joining Global21. If the publication wishes to become a chapter, it is given detailed information as to the terms and conditions of their membership. Global21 appoints a primary coordinator who will guide the publication through the process of becoming a chapter.
