About the Magazine:
As the first Australian chapter in Global21, the magazine aspires to publish the best in student ideas, writing and analysis on international affairs. The magazine is going on its sixth anniversary since its establishment and it publishes twice a year. The next edition, titled ‘Leadership and Responsibility in the 21st Century’, will be published in March 2011.
Over the next year, the Sydney Globalist team would like to engage in more article exchanges with overseas chapters within the Global21 network. The Sydney Globalist is also working on initiatives to collaborate with other student organizations on campus as well as creating forums of discussion, in person and online, for students to further debate international affairs. It is also the chapter’s goal to expand the current website as a means of expanding readership, which it aspires to extend to the universities of University of New South Wales, the University of Technology Sydney, Macquarie University, and the University of Western Sydney, all located in Sydney.
About the Editor-in-Chief: May Samali
May Samali is in her sixth and final year of a combined bachelor of Laws and bachelor of Economic and Social Sciences. In 2009, May was awarded First Class Honors and the University Medal in Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney. May has contributed articles to both editions of the magazine in 2008 and also in 2009. She also served as the Associate Editor (Theme) and Assistant Copy Editor of the magazine in 2008 and 2009. She is currently undertaking a semester of international exchange at New York University (NYU) School of Law and is serving as Editor-in-Chief from a distance.

Richard Sawyer – Deputy Editor-in-Chief
Richard is in his fifth year of a combined Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History. Richard is currently serving as Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
Surya Gopalan – Executive Director
Surya is in his fourth year of a combined Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economic and Social Sciences, majoring in Economics. He has contributed articles to the magazine in 2007 and 2008 and also served as the Senior Editor (Global Happenings) of the magazine in 2008.
Oliver Bolton – Publisher
Oliver is in his fifth and final year of a combined Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English. Oliver has contributed articles to the magazine in previous years and is currently serving as the magazine’s publisher.
