Change In The Air?Dear Readers, Welcome to this, the Globalist in its new format! To fall in line with a new approach to producing the magazine, we thought it a good idea to give it a new look: full colour in a smaller, handy format. Funding any Cambridge society is always tricky, especially when it is a relatively new player on the stage, and necessitates significant expenditure. This is only Issue Five, but the progress made thus far is set to continue as we aim to increase readership and circulation, recognition and quality. Without the generosity of the Marshall Society, which is supporting this issue of the magazine financially, we I am extremely fortunate to have a very keen and talented editorial team working with me. We all recognise the potential that the Globalist has to become a really renowned publication in Cambridge. With a wider range of material, more exciting and eye-catching layout, produced brilliantly by Amica and Jeremy, and increasingly fierce debate, analysis and criticism in our articles, we hope that all 4,000 issues, almost four times more than previously printed, will be cherished. It is wonderful to have such an engaged response from readers; already, after four issues, people feel compelled to air their views. I am astounded yet delighted that our wise words have reached Oxford, no less! International affairs, whether they be political, social, environmental, creative, artistic or musical affect all of us in some way or another. I urge you to embrace what represents great commitment and dedication from some of the best of Cambridge’s emergent journalistic fraternity: The Cambridge Globalist Yours sincerely, |
